What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

Hope City Church strives to teach and preach fundamental Biblical values. We believe the whole of Scripture is inspired by the Lord and is not up for re-imagining or reinterpreting. Real freedom from sin ONLY comes from the pure, unadulterated Gospel. The following are the core beliefs of Hope City Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While each person of the Trinity is fully God and equal in power and glory, they are distinct in their roles and relationships with creation and humanity.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became human, was born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. He is fully God and fully man, demonstrating God's love through His life, death, and resurrection.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's inspired, infallible Word, without error in its original writings. Scripture is our ultimate authority for faith and practice, providing everything we need for life and godliness.

Sin

Every person has sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard, creating a separation between humanity and God. This universal condition of sin affects all people and creates a need for redemption that we cannot achieve on our own.

Salvation

Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe in Him.

Heaven and Hell

We believe in the reality of both heaven and hell as eternal destinations. Heaven is the eternal home prepared for those who have accepted Christ as Savior, while hell is the place of eternal separation from God for those who reject His offer of salvation.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all true believers united by their faith in Jesus Christ. The local church exists to glorify God through worship, discipleship, fellowship, and sharing the gospel with the world. As a community of believers, we are called to encourage one another, use our spiritual gifts to serve others, and fulfill Christ's mission of making disciples of all nations.
