Who's Living In Your House?
When Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem, he found a problem. A room set aside for tithes and offerings in God's house had become a private living space for a man named Tobiah. Pastor Bruce walks through the long road that led to that moment. David wanted to build God a house. Solomon built the temple. Jerusalem fell to Babylon. Seventy years passed in captivity. And slowly, painfully, the temple and the walls were rebuilt.
That history sets up what Nehemiah found when he came home, and how he responded. He didn't ignore the problem. He threw out what didn't belong and put things back where they belonged.
Pastor Bruce brings the same question to us. Who is living in your house? Unforgiveness, jealousy, and old wounds can move in the same way Tobiah did, taking up space that belongs to God.
Before revival comes, there has to be a housecleaning.
