Sing A New Song

Dec 28, 2025    Bruce Dixon

In this end-of-year sermon, Pastor reflects on the importance of singing a "new song" to the Lord as we transition from 2025 into 2026. Drawing from Psalm 96, he challenges the congregation to move beyond living in past victories and defeats, emphasizing that the Hebrew word for "new" actually means "fresh." The pastor shares personal testimonies, including his daughter's miraculous recovery and ability to have children despite doctors saying it would be impossible due to injuries from being hit by a drunk driver ten years ago. He addresses how we often normalize our worship and praise, becoming stuck in yesterday's experiences instead of expecting fresh miracles and blessings from God.

The message outlines four key principles for entering the new year: singing new songs of praise, declaring God's glory to others, bringing honor to Him, and giving generously of our time, resources, and worship. Pastor emphasizes the urgency of the times we're living in, noting the prophetic signs pointing to Christ's return, and passionately calls believers to renew their commitment, share their testimonies, and reach the lost. He urges the congregation not to let 2025 hold them captive but instead to enter 2026 with fresh vision, fresh praise, and fresh dedication to building God's kingdom, reminding everyone that it's never too late to start fresh with the Lord.
