Trust the GPS
In this sermon, Pastor Bruce shares a powerful message titled Trust the GPS, where GPS stands for God’s Positioning System. He updates the congregation on the exciting progress of their new church building before transitioning into Numbers chapter 14. This scripture tells the story of the children of Israel as they stood on the edge of the Promised Land. Even though God had delivered them from Egypt with miracles and placed them under the protection of the blood, the people lost heart because of the reports of giants in the land. Instead of trusting God to lead them through the obstacles, the entire congregation began to weep and even considered appointing a new leader to take them back into the bondage they were once freed from.
The message explores how we often handle our own spiritual journeys in a similar way. Just like a vehicle’s GPS might suggest an alternate route to avoid an accident or construction, God often directs us through paths we don't understand to protect us from battles we aren't ready to fight. Pastor Dixon emphasizes that staying in God's position is a choice. We have the free will to follow His guidance or to walk out from under His blessings through disobedience and a lack of faith. He encourages everyone to stop trying to lead themselves and instead rely on God’s perfect navigation. If you feel like you have lost your way or gotten out of position, remember that you can always recalculate and return to the path God has set for you.
