Leaving the Barren Place
In this message, we learn about the story of Mephibosheth from Second Samuel. He was the son of Jonathan and lived in a barren place called Lo-debar. Even though he was royalty, he lived in poverty and fear because of his physical condition and his family history. King David decided to show him kindness not because of what Mephibosheth did, but because of a promise made to his father. David brought him out of that dry land and gave him a seat at the royal table.
This story shows how God wants to move us from a place of spiritual dryness into a life of blessing. You might feel crippled by your past or stuck in a season where nothing seems to grow. But the King is calling you to His table to find rest and restoration. It takes a choice to leave the barren fields of the past and accept the grace that God offers. He has already made the preparations for you to thrive and eat at His table always.
