Hebrews Pt 11 Melchizedek, Abraham, and Our High Priest
What do Hebrews 7 and Genesis 13–14 have to do with your prayer list and daily courage? In this message, we enter Scripture’s mystery of Melchizedek—the king of righteousness and peace—who meets Abraham with bread and wine and points us to Jesus, our eternal High Priest. We trace how Christ’s priesthood, after the order of Melchizedek, fulfills the promises and surpasses the old system. He is not of Levi but the Lion of Judah, our forever Mediator who transforms how we face sin and intercede for others.
Then we walk with Abraham as he raises 318 men to rescue Lot from the slime pits of Siddim and is met by Melchizedek, a foreshadow of communion and a picture of how God meets us when we risk ourselves for the rescue of others. This is a call to carry a holy burden: if you’ve got a “Lot” in your life, pray, act, and bring them to Jesus, not to judgment, but to the High Priest whose broken body and shed blood make a way home. Stay to the end for a time of prayer and invitation. Today is the day of salvation.
