Clothed, Anointed, and Consecrated
What does it take to experience true spiritual renewal? In this sermon on Psalm 85 and Leviticus 8, we explore the biblical pattern for revival. True revival requires three distinct steps. We must be clothed, anointed, and consecrated. This means we examine our spiritual lives, receive God's fresh empowerment for our daily work, and set ourselves apart for His purposes. God is a God of details. He wants us prepared so we can step out of our comfort zones when our old seasons dry up.
Preparation is only part of the story. We can build the tabernacle, put on the correct clothes, and gather in unity. But we still need the fire of God. Leviticus 9 shows us that the glory of the Lord appeared only after the people completed their consecration. The fire fell from heaven to consume the sacrifice, and the people fell on their faces. True revival cannot happen through human effort alone. We must ask God to send His holy fire to change our families and our communities.
