Revelation Pt 44 The Binding of Satan and the Millennium
In Revelation 20, John shows us what comes after the beast falls and the rider on the white horse wins. An angel descends with a key and a great chain. The dragon, that ancient serpent who deceived the nations, is seized, bound, and locked away in the Abyss for a thousand years. Satan's primary weapon—deception—is taken from him entirely. But this passage is not just about an enemy being restrained. It is about what happens to the people who refused to compromise, who held on through the cost, who stayed faithful when the world pressured them to bow down to the beast. They come to life. They take their thrones. They reign with Christ as priests and kings for a thousand years. This is the promise that kept the early churches going under Roman persecution, and it is the same promise that sustains us today.
The first resurrection described in Revelation 20:5–6 connects to a long line of Old Testament promises about God bringing the dead back to life. Isaiah saw it coming. Ezekiel saw dry bones rising as a vast army. Daniel saw two distinct resurrections leading to two different destinies. And John sees it all arriving. For those who share in the first resurrection, the second death has no power. They will serve as priests before God, stand in His direct presence, and reign alongside Jesus for a thousand years. If you have ever wondered whether your faithfulness matters, whether the promises of God are real, or what it truly means to be with Jesus forever, this lesson opens up those answers. Join us as we explore the hope that waits for every believer who holds on to the end.
