Revelation Pt 48 The City of God
Revelation 21:9-21 shows John a bride and, in the same vision, a city. The angel tells him he'll see the bride of the Lamb, then carries him to a mountain, and what he sees is the New Jerusalem. The city isn't a place believers move into someday. It's a description of God's people themselves, gates named for the twelve tribes, foundations named for the twelve apostles, one people built on one foundation.
This week we walk through the architecture: the high mountain that echoes Ezekiel's vision, the perfect cube that matches the exact size of the holy of holies, and the twelve foundation stones drawn from the high priest's breastplate. What was once restricted to one man, one day a year, is now the permanent ground every believer stands on.
f you've ever felt like an outsider to what God is doing, this passage says otherwise. You are built into the foundation, not standing outside it.
